Has no-one read the "Let It Be" 33 and a third series book? It says in there that it's scheduled for late 2004 release - it's a pretty up to date book and the author's talked to people of the apple organisation, the quote, which I can't recall was relating to the idea that George wasn't keen on putting it out. Which is no longer a problem, unfortunately (in some (selfish) respects).
Plus, the extra hours of Let It Be stuff found in Australia may be added to it.
Let It Be is the only Beatle movie I haven't seen. I saw it for sale once, but it was on beta. I've never seen a vhs copy available. If they put it on dvd,I'm buying it. I have seen alot of the rooftop concert and I love it. I know there's alot of bickering in the movie, but I still want to see it. The curiosity of what I've missed is killing me.
I saw LET IT BE in the movies in the summer of 1983 or 1984. During the concert on the roof the sound went off and the people starting throwing all their soda, candy and popcorn around the theatre for revenge.
John: You're just a lonely old man from Liverpool. Grandfather: But I'm clean! John: Are ya?
I sure hope this gets released on DVD! All I've seen of it is from the Anthology DVDs... And I wanna see more! It's such a cool era for the Beatles... with all the random jams and Billy Preston! He's magnificent on the keys! Such a great period of time!
Anyway... If this is released, I'll be at the store the day it comes out to buy at least two of them! So let's cross our fingers it's sometime this year (screw the Capitol Box Set sales! they can release this! they'll both sell!)
I was at Abbey Rd On The River in Cleveland and some guy was selling it. I was watching some of it and the quality was great. He said it was actually a promo edition from Japan. It had stuff not in the original movie. I balked at buying it because the talk at the time was that it was going to be released in early 2,005. I'm still waiting.
