Why isn't Let It Be out on DVD yet? I have only seen the parts of it on the Anthology and it isn't enough. I think it looks like probably one of the best films of the Beatles. What is holding them back from re-making it on DVD? Or are they doing it and it's taking a long time?

Let It Be is a great documentary showing the Beatles creating, arguing, jamming & rocking on the rooftop near the end. I saw it for the first time on bootleg video about 14 years ago which knocked me out even though some fans don't like it because of the breakup.  The rooftop concert proves the Beatles could have toured & possibly played Woodstock at the time because they were a solid rock & roll band despite internal friction.

with all these capitol box sets coming out I don't see  the LIB dvd coming out any time soon

Has no-one read the "Let It Be" 33 and a third series book?  It says in there that it's scheduled for late 2004 release - it's a pretty up to date book and the author's talked to people of the apple organisation, the quote, which I can't recall was relating to the idea that George wasn't keen on putting it out.  Which is no longer a problem, unfortunately (in some (selfish) respects).

Plus, the extra hours of Let It Be stuff found in Australia may be added to it.

Let It Be is the only Beatle movie I haven't seen. I saw it for sale once,but it was on beta. I've never seen a vhs copy available. If they put it on dvd,I'm buying it. I have seen alot of the rooftop concert and I love it. I know there's alot of bickering in the movie,but I still want to see it. The curiosity of what I've missed is killing me.

I saw LET IT BE in the movies in the summer of 1983 or 1984.
During the concert on the roof the sound went off and the people starting throwing all their soda, candy and popcorn around the theatre for revenge.

I sure hope this gets released on DVD! All I've seen of it is from the Anthology DVDs... And I wanna see more! It's such a cool era for the Beatles... with all the random jams and Billy Preston! He's magnificent on the keys! Such a great period of time!

Anyway... If this is released, I'll be at the store the day it comes out to buy at least two of them! So let's cross our fingers it's sometime this year (screw the Capitol Box Set sales! they can release this! they'll both sell!)

I was at Abbey Rd On The River in Cleveland and some guy was selling it. I was watching some of it and the quality was great. He said it was actually a promo edition from Japan. It had stuff not in the original movie. I balked at buying it because the talk at the time was that it was going to be released in early 2,005. I'm still waiting.

the movie was slated at the time-and for some reason. Lots of shots of Paul looking all gooey and cute at the camera,  john and george sulking in the background. The rooftop bit is great though, especially the police bit .
The best indoors bit is when Paul and john walk in while George is helping ringo with the Octupus's Garden melody. the look of embarrasment George gives them is quite funny.

Ah-then you'll be getting Goldmans "The Lives of John Lennon", where he portrays our John as a drug addicted, bisexual, anorexic self obssessed recluse.

LIB is a great insight of a falling apart band. Sad and wonderful at the same time. I've gone into the issues of Paul etc earlier. I think LIB is a great bit of Beatleness to possess.

Their certainly was an air of 'un-comfortableness.'
I've read the Goldman book....Certainly conjures up some nasties. Sometimes you just gotta remember it's a book. Still a lot of interesting stuff but Goldman was cashing in on weak-founded scandal.

There was alot of film that ended up on the floor. They need to go thru it again and make it 3 to 4 hours. I'd buy it. There's also alot of stuff filmed from The White album. Release that too.
