I'm very intersted in everything concerning the 1974 US-Tour of George. Photos, reviews, film or sound material. Does anybody know a record in real good soundquality ? It was George's only tour, besides the 1991 concerts in Japan and London, but I only listened to bad quality snippets until today. Whats about you, can you help me ?
To my knowledge no official material came from the tour. There are however various boots out there coming from audience recordings. There are some photographs I'm sure but I can't remember where I saw them.
I guess, you're right, there is no official live-recording of that tour, but I hope, there must be a fine bootleg around the world. I heard about two boots in good quality, but I never listened to them. So if one of you got one or has llistened to a good recording, please give me information. I'm a George fan, but I have a kind of "black hole" in my collection concerning that 1974 tour. Let's see, what the forum-people know............Klaus
i saw George in 1974 at the Capital Centre in Maryland, just outside of Washington DC. when i was 15 years old. the only thing i have from it is a ticket stub and some newspaper clippings from the next day. it was a good show. i don't know of any films or music from it though.
I'm really jealous to you, 'cause in 1974 I was a teenager in Germany of course, and George never played a concert here, besides the Beatles gigs in Hamburg and the 1966 "Bravo Blitz Tournee". Klaus
hi Klaus, i saw McCartney in 1976 also, i saw ringo play with the beachboys for a song at the 4th of july Washington celebrations in 75 or so....i never saw john though
to see Wings Over America must have been a hit. I saw Paul three times in Germany. One concert in Dortmund the other in Frankfurt in 1990, And last year in Cologne at his latest European Tour. It was really exiting, I'll never forget these concerts. Greetings, Klaus

I'd like to hear some bootlegs of George's 74 U. S. tour when I get the chance but I'm surprised there isn't any concert documentary of his only U. S. tour back in 74 especially since he's a former Beatle. BTW, I think he should have waited to tour until 76 since his voice was better & he was much happier as an artist.
I want you, I want you so bad babe. I want you, I want you so bad. It's driving me mad, it's driving me mad.
There aren't alot of 'good' bootlegs of his '74 shows, it wasn't a very triumphant tour for George, I remember Rolling Stone calling it 'Dark Hoarse'. I put attached a link for George boots from Bootlegzone.com. Great site. Here goes: http://www.bootlegzone.com/index.php?section=4&pub=&sort=1
scroll down a bit and click on 'all files alphabetically'. You'll see it on the left hand side.
hi juniorsfarm, thanx for your tip concerning George's 1974 tour bootlegs. Nice site, greetings, Klaus
My pleasure, it probably has the most comprehensive listing of Beatle boots on the Internet. The thing thats cool too is that they rate them and people can submit reviews. I've posted a few reviews on that site, but it at least gives you an idea of what you can expect. JF
I really wish that I could have been able to have seen George in concert. I would have LOVED to have seen him. But I must say...I was VERY upset on how people put George down during his 1974 tour. It's no wonder he never toured again until 1991 because people were always criticizing him and that really gets me upset when I hear about that kind of thing. I understand that it was because of his voice and he couldn't sing to well then, but here's what I think...at least he TRIED. He did his best to perform good concerts, but people always pestered him about Beatles songs when he didn't want to play them. I for one would only want to hear HIS songs. I mean sure I'm a Beatles fan and would like to hear some Bealtes songs...but I certaintly would NOT have pestered him to play a Beatles song if he didn't want to. No one should have to be forced to play something they don't want to. This is my opinion on this and I felt the need to defend George on this, because I love him.
