I can't believer Gilmour got as many votes as he did! I didn't think he would because people automatically go for Clapton everytime. It's sort of been force fed to us about how great he is. Gilmour gets little attention compared to Clapton, Page, and Hendrix. Wonder how Keith Richards compares to these guys.
IMO Gilmour aint much without Floyd...but he still has talent....and if i had a choice between keith or dave it would be Dave...
Do you mean his solo stuff or his guitar playing isn't much without Floyd? Because I think his guitar playing stands on it's own. He's not much of a songwriter though.

I actually have and love Gilmours solo stuff. Check out 'There's No Way Out of Here' off of the self titled album and 'Murder' (his best in my opinion) and 'Out Of The Blue'. Some good stuff there guys.
i agree with maccalvr, david glimour wasnt the best songwriter for pink floyd Roger waters was, he preety much wrote the wall and the final cut wich i think is awesome

I have his solo album 'David Gilmour', and it's pretty good, but i like Waters 'The Pros And Cons Of H-H' better..but it's still a good solo album...
