This song is among my personal Beatles Top 10 - an overlooked gem if there ever was one. Correct me if I`m wrong, but this song was only available as the B-side of 'Ticket To Ride' in the UK from 1965 to 1977. Then it was included on the 'Love Songs' double set. In the U.S. it was included on 'Beatles VI'. When those albums got deleted, it was only available on 'Past Masters'.

Its non-availability on any of the original studio albums made it one of the more overlooked gems in the Beatles catalogue, imo.

It's good, but just doesn't leave me as satisfied as most Beatle songs.

It's made from the same chord structure as This Boy, but the latter is so incredibly superior that I usually skip Yes It Is.

Yes It Is is supposedly the sequel to This Boy but it's much better creatively, musically & artistically with great vocals by John & one of the Beatles finest moments during the early 60's.

I want you, I want you so bad babe.  I want you, I want you so bad.  It's driving me mad, it's driving me mad.

I think its a great song, has a very eery feel.
I Like This Boy alot more, but just for the harmonies, and great bass line...Plus Lennons amazing solo vocal part.

Whats the matter lads? Blue Meanies?

The best thing is recently learning that George did not use a volume pedal (or wah-wah) to get the guitar fade-in sound.  John actually sat on the floor and jacked George's guitar volume knob up and down to make that sound!

I am stone wrong about this.  I misremembered which song it was that John tweaked George's guitar knob: it WAS I Need You.

George most definitely used a volume pedal on Yes It Is, especially since it was part of the basic track with John playing guitar and singing.

D'oh!!
