I think Double Fantasy is a much better album than Milk & Honey but Nobody Told Me is much better than Just Like Starting Over.

Quite a lot of people like M&H better than DF. I find that interesting, as it has a cobbled-together feel, and a couple of John's songs were better left unreleased.

DF too has its flaws. It's so domestic, far too domestic, for my taste.

But I wish neither album had seen the light of day. If John had lived, DF wouldn't have been looked upon too highly, imo. And of course we wouldn't have had M&H (in the form we got it, anyway).

I agree with you about Double Fantasy not being looked at too highly if John had lived while the next album probably would have been just John.

Yoko and John put out most of the better stuff on DF......but there's a few classics from John on this release.

Some people say it's John in Paul style: at home, family and ballads. It makes sense to me and it's because of that that I don't believe in stereotypes and the guys could have played together in the 80s with no problem (George was in similar taste). If John was alive nowadays would be making albums not very diferent than Paul's.
