Yep, not bad considering Used ones bring anywhere from $550.00us to $900.00us Depending on the year. Vintage pieces command higher prices. 1972 and back easily clear over $1000.00us.

While the price may be right you also have to remember that when you buy from a online store or a catalogue you loose service and not physically being able to go and sit down and play the bass, check apperance, or hear how it sounds. By service i mean, If you have a problem ie.... elecronics problems, fret buzz, neck adjustments To name a few you'll be on your own. Most catalogues and online stores can offer lower prices because they dont have such things as a service dept. or even a actual store front you can stop by and shop at. Sometimes they will offer to correct any problems, but you will have pack up your instrument, pay for shipping both ways, and wait a usually two to three weeks for your turn around. So while it may be a good price you really should weigh the pro's and con's like, price against what you loose. One more thing to keep in mind is most stores in your area will match that price if they are Rickenbacker dealers, Also would you really want to pay $1000.00 for something you never even seen, let alone never played, or heard? Just some food for thought.
