I'm seeing this tomorrow! Cheap Trick and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra celebrate the rock masterpiece one more time in a repeat of last year’s sold-out concerts. As before, Sgt. Pepper’s will be performed in its entirety, plus other Beatles favorites. This is your last chance!
Hollywood Bowl Orchestra Edwin Outwater, conductor Cheap Trick Ian Ball, special guest Simone, special guest Rob Laufer, special guest Billy Corgan, special guest
I wasn't that excited until I saw that Billy Corgan is gonna be there! Woo hoo! Has anyone seen this before? I hope it's good. I like Cheap Trick, so that'll help.
Oh my God. It was beyond amazing. I wish I had the energy to tell you all about it. Amazing. Everyone was perfect. They REALLY did the Beatles justice. I have a newfound respect for Cheap Trick. Robin Zander's voice is a miracle. But really, they were all so freaking GOOD! I didn't know Ian Ball was from Liverpool. He was awesome. But then so was Billy Corgan! Sounded so much like Lennon at one point. Very overwhelming. And I didn't know that Simone was Nina Simone's daughter! And Rob Laufer used to play George in Beatlemania! They were all perfect. You could tell they were really heavy Beatle fans. A lot of love went into these performances.
Oh yeah, and Geoff Emerick was in the sound booth mixing the music for the show!!!! Or whatever the proper term for that is! The crowd went wild when they introduced him. Twice! And Donovan was backstage! Billy Corgan came out and said he ran into a magical pixie that showed him the chords to Julia! Apparently Donovan taught the chord progression to John in India. Or something like that. I'm probably not using the correct musical terminology! I was too excited!
I don't know if they do this around the country/world, but if they do...GO TO IT!!!!!! I'm on cloud #9!
I was almost in tears by the time they got to A Day in the Life. Too much!
^^^^^^Too bad about the cell phone, but glad you got a new one. You go HeatherBoo!!! I just got the basic "flip up" small phone because I really don't use it that much. Just for emergencies and long distance.......and I got "roll-over" minutes, so it adds up.
Yes cell phones are seriously a rip off. But I am sad to say I cannot live without mine. It is a part of me. When that happened today I panicked because I knew I wouldn't have another one until I got off work and then I went straight over and got a new one ASAP.
I have officially "Beatled" out my new phone. Inside and out
