Argh! This is all so annoying. Why do these guys put out little bits and pieces here and there for all these years? Why can't they just put it ALL out and let us enjoy?? I'll be 150 by the time all Beatles footage has been leagally realeased!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This isn't an authorized release, that's why. Its a bootleg from hell, but one worth having.
Yeah, I know it's unofficial, but that's just what I'm talking about. There's this wealth of material that NEVER sees the light of day! Just like an official DVD release of Let It Be! I feel like I'll be dead before I see that. They've got tons of stuff they could put out and it would sell like crazy. I don't get the big wait. It's been almost 40 years already. Oh well, I guess that's what keeps them fresh. I mean, they MUST know what they're doing seeing as how they are still the biggest band in the world after all these years. I'm just greedy.
You aren't greedy, you're being pragmatic. You can tell from the Anthology series that Shea has been remastered, Washington has been remastered, 'Let It Be' has been remastered, Budokan, and so forth. So why the hold up? They should put out the concerts in a DVD Box Set and make a ton of money. God knows the bootleggers on Ebay are making a bundle. Unless there are some inner workings with copyright or Yoko or whatever, it just doesn't make sense.

Blimey, what else arrived yesterday? Rutles 2, that's what!
So basically the whole of last night was a massive Beatle-fest!
After watching The Rutles (more of which another time!) I settled down to watch the first 3 discs.
The opening scene is a composite picture of the four Beatle's faces - and it looks very weird - no wonder they scrapped it! Then the familiar In My Life segment is used as the intro - not Help!. To be honest, there are FAR too many differences to list - the main differences are the interviews - much more from George and much less from John - George even remembers the name of the person he bought his first guitar from!
Paul obviously re-recorded a lot of his answers in another interview, notably his comments about From Me To You - his original responses are included here. There is also much more on the departure of Pete Best, including why he was out so late every night with an... ahem... stripper... ahem!
The interview dialogue from the guys often overlaps, so George finishes a line of a story that Paul started and vice versa. I thought that was quite a nice idea because it removed the feeling that The Beatles didn't want to be in the same room!
Another great idea is the story-telling - obviously, people remember things in different ways and bits get missed out or skipped and that's exactly what happened here... we are told the story of their first few singles, Love Me Do, Please Please Me and She Loves You, then George says 'hang on a minute, what happened to From Me To You?'. The videotape then rewinds back and the story is told at last!
It's nice to see Mal Evans get a greater mention including some nice footage of him 'playing' an anvil during the Let It Be sessions!
OK then, now to the quality of the DVD... obviously this was a work in progress and the some of the vintage clips had yet to be EQ'd, cleaned and framed correctly, the sync numbers are also present - but that aside, a lot of the clips look and sound great, especially the recent interviews which have great picture and sound quality.
Of course, a lot here has already appeared on the video and DVD releases, so it wont be for everyone, but personally speaking, I am VERY glad I purchased this set and I can't wait to watch the other 7 discs!
No, its Erskine4. They have some cool stuff like a 2 DVD set called "Beatles By the Bushel" with 67 promos, and one of Macca with all his promos. I hate to ask, but how did you end up buying this for so much $$? Your BeatleChas is selling the "Director's Cut" set for $46.00 US.

Because I am SO rich I don't have to worry about what I spend. NOT!!!!!! LOL
I dunno really, when I checked there were only a few people selling it and he looked the most reputable of the bunch. It was an auction rather than a 'Buy Now" and I actually got it a lot cheaper than what the other sets went for PLUS he checked in a copy of Paul's Superbowl show, which I hadn't seen! So I'm pleased.
