Before reinstating people etc etc, the first question is:
What is a moderator FOR? In other words, decide what you want them to do.
Then ask: Who will do the job the best?
Also consider this: an over-moderated board (eg, beatlelinks.com where officious mods are forever locking, moving, publicly warning) feels boring and cramped. An under-moderated board can be quite exciting to visit, AND (here's the point) will tend to look after itself quite nicely. A mod on this type of board should use their powers sparingly, and after letting offenders know by PM that they're overstepping the mark.
The moderator is really a "staff member", and should be committed to attracting knowledgeable people and holding them.

Good points there Ydoll
I don't intend to change things here - I think this board has tended to look after itself in the past and, as you suggested, it does make for some 'lively' debate, which is one of the attractions of this forum!
Wow, none of you knew this already? Well, I dunno how many of you were here when Maria was frequenting the forum.
Right now, I have no joe with YDoll, but I know he/she is Maria.
1) They both use the phrase "new fiddling" to describe LIBN 2) They both think not all of Spector's work was left off on LIBN 3) They both like John a lot 4) They both have a lot to say against Paul 5) The use of !'s in a lot of their posts strikes an eerie resemblance
I thought it was common knowledge that they were the same person, but guess not. Hope this helps, everyone.
