I've always loved this one. And loved just as much WINGS' rendition. Great how in ROCK SHOW they were all sitting on stage and just sang their hearts out.
John: You're just a lonely old man from Liverpool. Grandfather: But I'm clean! John: Are ya?

I've Just Seen A Face is actually in my top 5 Beatles songs because it's the one that made me fall in love with them.... before that, I thought the Beatles were all right, but that sealed th deal. So it's definitely up there as one of my absolute favorites. It's so beautiful.

one sweet dream, pick up the bags and get in the limousine. soon we'll be away from here. step on the gas and wipe that tear away. one sweet dream came true today...
The songs on the Help! Album are quite possibly their greatest "earlier" tunes. And I think "I've Just Seen a Face" is a really great track. You can't help but want to sing along to it. I think the tempo of the song is very upbeat and in a sense uplifting. I love the chorus! I agree with all of those who said it's a very under-rated song!! Defintely one of my favorite songs. I think that another song which happens to be VERY under-rated (even though it does NOT belong to the Help! album) is the song "I Will" from The White Album. Would anyone agree with that?
There's a pair of kinky boot beasts! And they're preparing to attack!
I think it has a bit of a country folk sound to it. The day this "Rubber Soul" lp came out I listened to it numerous times and it occured to me that the Beatles had become more introspective. Drive my Car wasn't on my Lp and the whole "rock" feel was gone and replaced by a mellower sound. It had a country type of feel with a little folk included. The black turtle necks and suede coats had taken over the Beatles look! As so many times before and later they had re-invented both their musical style and looks!
I think a little more of a Folk/country sound. As was quite a few songs on this LP. I read in some reviews that the Beatles had become enamoured with American western movies and this was a big influence on their song writing at the time!!!!
RINGO: I'm Ringo and I play the drums GEORGE: I'm George and I play a guitar PAUL: I'm Paul and I play a ... eh... bass JOHN: I'm John and I too play a guitar, sometimes I play the fool
MrMustard is absolutely right, it really sounds like Simon and Garfunkel to me. But which came first, Simon and Garfunkel or Paul's song - were the duo established when Help was being made? Could Paul have been influenced by Paul Simon here? It certainly makes an interesting change as a Beatles song.
