About the posts about scanners/cameras, my solution is a ridiculously simple, ageing digital camera- does the job though! But I'm pretty concerned that one day my computer will break down or something and lose all my photos. That would be so awful- photos are such good memories of various times, people and places. So I might try to print off a load of my favourites on photograph paper (not that I have a clue how that all works) Or actually these online photo sites seem quite good- so your photos are safe unless the whole worldwide web breaks down (which it may someday do!)

A warning for all the people who think they can safely store their precious photos on CD-ROMs: most CD-recordables have a life span of just 3 to 7 years. After that they just don't work anymore. Even if you never use them. So it's better to just have your photos developed.
