Peace of Mind is sometimes known as The Candle Burns.
A tape of it was supposedly rescued from an Apple garbage bin, and is said to be a Pepper-era outtake, possibly from June 1967.
For years it was a staple on 70s and early 80s Beatle bootlegs.
However, it isn't the Beatles at all. It's available in very varying sound quality on old boots, and some web sites. None of the recordings is really good quality. And the iffy quality makes the voices a little murky, and if you want you can convince yourself that John is lead singer, with Paul & George well in there too.
But it's pretty clear to my ears that it's not the Fabs! Pity actually, as it's a song with much potential - it has a shivery vibe. |
