Crackerbox Palace is one of George's finest moments as a solo artist with a great video as well long before MTV which is equal to his signature tune My Sweet Lord personally speaking because it's great musically & lyrically & you never hear it on classic rock radio anymore sadly!

I heard CB from George when it was first released way back in 76.

Yes, I suppose you're right Ydoll because half of the people here who claim to be Beatles fans are not even fans because we don't even know what we are talking about most of the time which is saddening & disturbing but it is the sort of thing you would expect from Bush-bashers & weirdos like the types who hang out here.

You're so vain, you probably think this post is about you.

Yeah Wayne ... some of us know what a REAL Beatle fan is. You and I are: several others here. But there are many who have no idea!

A REAL fan might ENCOURAGE others with less knowledge to actually want to know more...Not be-little them into giving up all together.

So by your reckoning, you and Wayne are our 'benchmark' when it comes to being accepted as a 'REAL' fan? ........Give over!

You should listen to Crackerbox Palace. George will be expecting you.
It's a catchy song. I don't think his voice sounded that great. It's some pad he had.

You're right!

A real Beatles fan in my opinion is a person who consideres himsef a Beatles fan! No matter if his knowledge about the Beatles is not big  enogh, or if there are songs he has not heard... It's not a rule, that you are a fan only in case you reach a certain level of knowledge!!

I LOVE Crackerbox Palace BTW, I recommend you to listen to it!! (Which George song don't I love...)

For those who have not heard it, I have uploaded it for you. For me, it is the only decent track from a very mediocre LP - Thirty Three and a 1/3.

Great song. I don't mind some of the stuff on 33 1/3, but his albums always had a few winners and some filler.

Thanks for posting that up Al..... Can't say on first listen that I'm that into it.....It's normally why I tend to stick to The Beatle stuff. Even though I realise I miss out on assembling the 'what could be' Beatle album discussions. lol

The reason I'm not really into the Beatle's solo output is because, in my opinion,  Seventies music as a whole was basically crap - I never got into it at all until Punk. Hearing the fabs tackle disco (Goodnight tonight) and funk (Whatever Gets You Thru The Night).... EURGH!

I don't think the seventies dry, over-production of their albums did them any favours either. Something went wrong after 1973 - apart from one or two tracks per LP they seemed to forget how to write a decent melody.

Oooh, that's going to cause some arguments!
