I was talking about music the other day with a girl friend and she knows how much I love the Beatles and how I love music in general.  She then asked me this question, If you were forced to make the choice of being able to listen to only the Beatles music and no other music ever for the rest of your life, or being able to listen to every type and form of music yet never be able to listen to Beatle music again which would you choose??  What a choice!  I couldn't imagine never being able to hear the Beatles again so I picked them.  What would be your choice?

I agree. I'd have to scrap the lads. Theres too much good stuff to be relegated to only one band.

I could live for a while with just The Beatles. But my choice should be 'the other half'!

Exactly!  No Beatles ever again?  I couldn't imagine not ever hearing Let It Be again.  But occasionally I like to listen to the Stones or even some Frank Sinatra.  LOL!!  There is a lot of great music out there, but I'm gonna have to go with my beloved Beatles!!

No way. I'm not deciding either way.

I'd ditch the Beatles. I do love them, but it wouldnt take long before you got sick of hearing JUST them over and over.

And Ydoll, great album. I bought that the other day alongside Highway 61 Revisited. Dylan certainly is amazing.

I have 2000 CDs and records by several hundreds of different artists. So if I'd have to chose between The Beatles and a few hundred other artists that I love or at least like... That wouldn't be an extremely hard decision, to be honest...

Yes: Highway 61 and Blonde are a mind-blowing pair of albums. Quite unique in the annals of rock music.

Highway 61 may get my vote as greatest album ever made.  (Whether or not I pick the Beatles).  These (61, BOB) are absolutely essential albums!

Would the choice includes covers of Beatles song by others?  I just heard the Arthur Lyman hawaiian instrumental of "Yesterday" and it was quite moving.  But I doubt those George Martin orchestral albums would get me very far.

I doubt as much as anyone loves the Beatles, they'd be willing to sacrifice everything else to listen to Revolver or Rubber Soul or Sgt. Pepper's. As great as they are, every person needs variety in their life. A lot of classic rock, some new wave, reggae, punk, folk, HELL even jazz and classical does a person good. MTV can keep their rap though .

No Engelbert Humperdink? No Spice Girls? No Partridge Family? No Rick Dees? Not even Don Johnson or David Hassellhoff? I couldn't listen to any of them ever again? Not even Debbie Boone? Or LaToya Jackson? Could I at least listen to Yoko?

Give up the Beatles? I would die. But then I'd get sick of them which would be bad. Either way it would suck.
