"Bob rang me up and asked me to do it. He explained that this time we wouldn't be looking for money but trying to show the G8 leaders how much the people want the African debt to be cancelled. I realised it was a great idea and I think Bob is handling it with his usual panache, if anyone can pull it
off it's Bob and Bono. I'm proud to be on the team and look forward to the
free gig, which I know will be a really exciting one. The energy and passion
that this idea can produce could be a landmark moment for all of us."

I'm looking forward to Paul's set at Live 8 but this event is about as cheesy as you can get.  Bono can spend all his money to save Africa since he's in the news constantly being the holier than thou rock star asking for other people's money.

Yeah, God forbid rock stars should actually try to make a difference.

You're so vain, you probably think this post is about you.

Live 8 is a cheesy event no matter what you think & you know it but if you want to make a fool out of yourself, go ahead.  What will Live 8 do realistically besides giving McCartney & the other artists lots of press Mairi?

I'm in complete support of Live 8! They have found a creative way to raise awareness. I'm hoping all who watched will get involved:

Sorry Wayne but this one ain't about asking people for money though is it?

We all need to drop the cynicism to make this work at the end of the day. In what ways could you avoid it being 'Cheesy?' Normally, when things appeal to all ages and people, cheese has a habit of being there.....In this case, cheese is totally forgiveable.

Come on Wayne, you must have enjoyed the London gig at least? What did you think of The mighty Floyd?
