Behringer is originally East-European (East Germany I think), but they make quite good stuff on microphones. I have one that almost sounds like a Shure SM58, but lacks a little dynamic. Still a good microphone, certainly considering the price. Good value for money.

Well, I went through and started to price Fender Bass Guitars ..with mixed results.
I found a standard Mexican P Bass would cost me around the 350 mark - but the Black Matt colour can only be traced to the very high end Jazz Guitars (obviously a hell of alot more money) Plus, the Mexican Standards only come in Rosewood necks ..so my dream bass has fizzled...basically.
Looks like I will have to up the cash, and buy an American P for around 570 ..if I want a maple neck.

I just think maple makes you glide over the frets better..
Any thoughts? is it worth it, just for the neck...

Depends how close u are to 570 pounds. Personally I thought the Mexican basses are ok. I bought one for a pupil about 6 months ago. Sounds good plugged in.

Still...It may be worth the wait. Personal decision really.

Put a 20 pound deposit on a Fender Japanese P bass (second hand)
good condition - 275 quid.

Any advice or info on that line of bass?

I just bought myself a small Vox T-25 today. Very cheap and at least a nice small practise/small gig amp.
Cannay wait to get the viola through it.

I saw that amp over here in the local shop as well. I bought a Vox Brian May (that tiny white amp) last year and haven't regretted it. It's a very direct sound and it suits me very well.
