Hey, to who said bass is easier due to chords, the chords are not THAT hard, in fact, I only play chords, and I always play chords anyway. For bass, you need scales. Though a guitar is worth it.
I know, I was just saying that that's what a lot of people think.
I took up bass because someone had to. I was that good that at one gig I played the 1st three songs not plugged in (twas a festival and I was nervous as f***k) and noone, including the rest of the band, seemed to notice.
That actually happened to me too once.
And fortionately someone filmed that show and put the video on internet... It's probably still floating around somewhere...
I'm feeling the bass more than a guitar. I watched two videos of each being played and I'd liked the Bass better. One problem that makes me hesitant to get one of the two is the fact I have no musical experience. A guitar(both bass and regular guitar) looks hard to play. I don't think I'd be able to do it or if I did I will suck so bad. Is a guitar really hard to play as it looks?

It's the same as when you first learned how to ride a bicycle. At first it's so hard that it doesn't seem like you're ever going to learn it, but once you can do it, it becomes as easy as anything.
It's not like you are expected to play like Hendrix (or Pastorius, depending on the instrument) as soon as you pick up the instrument. It takes time, but in the end you are greatly rewarded.
Not to mention, guitar and bass are pretty simple instruments to learn.
I have to say I'm a little nervous because I won't really know what to do with it. Luckly their is a guitar shop that gives out lessons five minutes away from my house. But after lessons I won't really know what to do. Can you guys please give me some reasons why I should buy it? The guitar is on sale so I don't have much time to make a decision. Thanks guys
