Mick Jagger's solo stuff is nauseating, Roger Water's doesn't stand up to his Floyd stuff showing he WASN'T the entire genius behind them, Robbie Robertson? I don't think I've ever heard his solo stuff. Pete Townshend has like 2 or 3 good solo songs and the other two I don't care about. As for Paul, well, I think his solo stuff stands up the best in his early days, but I'm probably biased about that.
Roger Waters shouldn't be on there. Pros And Cons Of Hitchhiking is a brilliant collection of enlish blues. One gets the feeling listening to it that he realized he could have just done what he did in Floyd but then he just said, f*** it, I'll do whatever the hell I feel like! So, he chucked out the synthesizers and amplifiers and voice boxes, brought in an all-female du-wop band, Eric Clapton, and a blues concert pianist and then poured his goddamn heart out. Radio KAOS was a bit cheesy (VERY cheesy as a matter of fact) but enthralling nonetheless, and Amused To Death is a great political album! I think that Nick Mason should be on that list. Profiles was alright but Fictitious Sports was freaking horrendous! I feel Mick Jagger's solo work, well lacking, is quite good. Phil Collins disappoints me when I look back on the days of Genesis.
This crippling of individuals I consider the worst evil of Capitalism. Albert Einstein, "Why Socialism?" 1949
Robbie Robertson and Pete Townshend have put out great solo material. Paul has too. This is another stupid poll, but given the author, not surprising. Why not spin it and ask who has had the best solo output of these?
