Despite the lack of activity since Think Tank Blur apparently remain active and will continue as a three-piece (Graham Coxon's lack of interest towards his former band still persists) with Albarn stating that the band would not replace the long departed Coxon; "What's the point? We'd never be able to get one as good as Graham!" In early 2006 bassist Alex James said in an interview with the NME that some of Blur's newest material sounded similar to the Foo Fighters, suggesting that at least some progress has been made towards an eighth studio album by the trio.

Damon Albarn has also recently stated in a Q interview that he is still dedicated to Blur, but reluctant to tour without Coxon.

Alex James has commented that he is hopefull to persuade Coxon to come back to Blur, and that he feels Blur's best work is still to come.

And It will because on November 2nd James said in an interview with BBC: "One way or another, there'll be another Blur album"
