My Sweet Lord. I agree with becky, he does some gorgeous guitar work and he also emotes so well in this song.

I'm an alligator, I'm a mama-papa coming for you
I'm the space invader, I'll be a rock 'n' rollin' b**** for you
Keep your mouth shut,
you're squawking like a pink monkey bird
And I'm busting up my brains for the words

My Sweet Lord is George's signature tune as a solo artist but Crackerbox Palace is one of his most underrated classics & a GREAT song.

I want you, I want you so bad babe.  I want you, I want you so bad.  It's driving me mad, it's driving me mad.

There was a song he sang about a castle.. or something like that... no wait! I remember it now! Crackerbox Palace... yes, I believe that's the title. I love that song, it's goofy but I love it.

Though his best solo work is All Things Must Pass. I also love Material World... and of course, My Sweet Lord! That's a great tune.

It sounds 60s, doesn't it?
My favourite one from him has always been Run Of The Mill but the best could be All Things Must Pass.

I don't know George's solo stuff that well. Difficult to choose, but, Simply Shady on the Dark Horse album is really good.  I would say All Things Must Pass. But, What Is Life? is perhaps better...

Awaiting On You All and Apple Scruffs could be stuff from their early years very well. I love the album and I've always wondered how it would be if it'd have been recorded by the guys as a unit.

Yes, it was, but with a definetely 60s touch. I was wondering what about the guys recording in 1970 George's stuff, with their touch,but... "the dream is over" (1970).

I miss some things: harmonies from John and Paul and Paul's bass specially. I don't like the production (damned Spector's Wall of Sound!) but I like the 200 o version George made.

George didn't like the production Spector made. It's old-fashioned, somehow. I like the 2000 version because of the production (no so many guitars) and the slide.

I'm quite fond of alternate versions of classics that George did with others.

Here Comes The Sun w/ Paul Simon
Dream w/ Bob Dylan
Anything from the Japan tour he did with Clapton

My Sweet Lord sounds like George embarking on his new solo career with the uptempo sound and that.

My Sweet Lord 2000 sounds to me like he kind of knows that it's nearly over, therefore he comes full circle with a slower more mournful remake.

Oh, good grief!    Another impossible poll!

George's solo work is so varied, this list would have to be 20 choices long, and I still don't think you'd come close to picking everyone's favorites.

I'm going to be really rigorous and just pick:

ATMP 1: What Is Life and Let It Down
ATMP 2: Beware of Darkness and Hear Me Lord
Brainwashed: Pisces Fish and... and... the whole rest of the album!

Seriously, on both these albums, there's not a song I would skip (except the remake of MSL but that doesn't really count).

But as for songs that just come out of the blue, "Cheer Down". I still remember hearing that in the theatre and sitting bolt upright and saying "George!" (I think I even said it out loud.)   Great song, and always makes me feel happy.

All you've got to do is choose love.  That's how I live it now.  I learned a long time ago, I can feed the birds in my garden.  I can't feed them all. -- Ringo Starr, Rolling Stone magazine, May 2007

For all I know, Ringo might be a yogi disguised as a drummer! - George Harrison
