I have heard that George was working on an album (that contained the song "Horse To Water") just before he died. Does anyone know what the album is and if it is available anywhere. Was it ever released?
George Harrison was in the studio Oct. 1 recording his first track since his most recent cancer treatment, reports Ananova and Reuters. The track, called "A Horse to Water," was co-written by his son, Dhani, and recorded with Jools Holland, who hosts his own music variety show on the BBC (and seen in the U.S. on BBC America) and interviewed the Fabs for the Anthology. Said Holland, "George suggested we do a track and this finally happened this month. It was wonderful to work with one of the great, legendary artists in the world." A Holland spokesman described the song as a cross as a cross between 1960s Bob Dylan and early 1970s John Lennon. ``It is not a ballad and it is not rock -- I think George Harrison fans will be intrigued,'' the spokesman said. Reuters says the track was recorded Oct. 1 Reuters reports the song will appear on Holland's forthcoming album ``Small World, Big Friends,'' to be released in Britain Nov. 19, and as a single, though we suspect it would be credited to both Holland and Harrison, not just to George, as many of the wire reports seem to imply. On the album, Holland plays duets with musicians including Mark Knopfler, Van Morrison and Eric Clapton. The song has a publishing credit to RIP Ltd 2001. Hopefully, we'll hear more from George soon, including the album we've all been waiting for. One more thing: Realize that this song, despite the wording of some of the media reports, is basically a Holland track and not just a Harrison single.
Horse To The Water is not included on Brainwashed.
I know, Bobber! I was only telling him that the album that had been recorded before dear George's death, was Brainwashed. I didn't say that HTTW was on it! Come on, being a George obsessed, would I say such thing by mistake??
