Paul McCartney book signing at Barnes & Noble in NYC on Monday On Monday, October 3rd at 2:00pm, Barnes & Noble located in Rockefeller Center in New York City will be hosting rock legend and ex-Beatle Paul McCartney, who is promoting his first children's book High In The Clouds.
Paul came here couple of years ago. Canīt remember when exactly but he was just for 2 days or 3, and to relax. Iceland has a reputation among famous that Iceland is the place to go if you want to be left alone and not bothered too much. Eric Clapton for example comes here every other year in the summer to go fishing. But to be honest, I donīt think Paul found too much peace here.
Ringo came here in 1984. He arrived with his wife in the middle of the summer both wearing fur coats. He appeared on stage in a festival with a famous band in Iceland and played drums on Johnny B Goode, I think it was. And because this was the famous Ringo Starr, the finest chefs were appointed to cook for him the finst lobster in Iceland. Then when it was served Ringo politely said: "I dont eat anything that crawls".
Then to top it, he was asked what he would like to drink. Cognac he said. So one of the most expensive cognac in Iceland was found where someone had bought it in London on an auction. Ringo was happy to get his cognac but he looked like he was missing something. He then asked: "Where is Coke to mix it with?"
They were the most brilliant, powerful, lovable, popular group on the planet...
