Gene gained some weight in five years from 58 to 63. Nice to see the song develop into a more bluesy kind of thing. On the other hand: he still sang his song from 56 in 65 on stage. I can't imagine the Beatles doing that, besides Twist And Shout.
he was a good looking boy...soft spoken,who knows if he wasn't so mellow where he would have been....capitol records was mad because he would sing other peoples songs in concert b4 the artist released them,like hendrix did with sargent peppers...hwe died on oct 12 1971 from a ruptured ulcer on his dads living room floor...he has a sister named rhonda who records.here is a vid....and another...i know he did a 68 or 70 version of be bop a lula too but i cannot find it....he also has a daughter named melody jean vincent ,onin his last session she sang his hit hey mama...a great ditty gene did early in his career...his last album was called i'm back and i'm proud...he grew up in virginia and was in the navy in 55...he was stationed in korea....lotta lovin only made it to 13 on the charts unreal...listen to this
