a song written by Gene Vincent from 1956 Well Be Bop A Lula she's my baby Be Bop A Lula I don't mean maybe Be Bop A Lula she's my baby Be Bop A Lula I don't mean maybe Be Bop A Lula she's my baby doll, my baby doll, my baby doll. Well, she's the gal in the red blue jeans She's the queen of all the teens She's the woman that I know She's the woman that (scream) loves me so. Be Bop A Lula she's my baby Be Bop A Lula I don't mean maybe Be Bop A Lula she's my baby doll, my baby doll, my baby doll. (Let's rock) Well, now she's the woman that's got that beat She's the woman with the flyin' feet She's the woman that walks around the store She's the woman that yells (scream) more, more, more, more. Be Bop A Lula she's my baby Be Bop A Lula I don? mean maybe Be Bop A Lula she's my baby doll, my baby doll, my baby doll. (Let's rock again, now) Well Be Bop A Lula she's my baby Be Bop A Lula I don't mean maybe Be Bop A Lula she's my baby Be Bop A Lula I don't mean maybe Be Bop A Lula she's my baby doll, my baby doll, my baby doll. |

Great pics! But I don't know what is scarier: crazed Beatles going for Gene's throat or that odd-looking crew on the stairs.
Poor, Vincent Eugene, sounds like he drank himself to death.
And the song on the gravestone better be Be-Bop-a-Lula or somebody's got some 'splainin' to do. |

I've been listening to Gene and Eddie on a BBC recording. It's great. I like the Brit announcer asking so politely if Eddie has finished his hamburger and will do another number. The girls asking for dedications are hilarious. |

Carl Perkins, Carl Perkins, Carl Perkins!
You gotta love him. Let's all get dixie-fried.
It's a shame that by the late sixties he was relegated to Johnny Cash's touring band. I've got a Dylan boot with Johnny with Carl on it. They're playing Carl's versions of songs like Matchbox and Johnny is feeding Dylan the words, while Carl chugs along dutifully on guitar (playing some nice fills). It's a shame no one said, "Hey, Carl, you sing a verse."
But Carl does play an awesome part on Boy Named Sue from Folsom Prison. Johnny had an incredibly tight band at that point. |

I'm surprised that in Lennon interview book (from right before his death), John doesn't mention Gene among his other "idols" like Buddy, Elvis, Carl, etc. |

Yeah - it's a great track - should've been a movie!
Why on earth bleep "b****" though? Maybe it's a strong word in the US, over here it's VERY mild! |

because here in america, appearences are important to most.....nudity is taught to be a no no,cursing is wrong.....its the american puritain ethic.....they employ people just to be censors.i think that we are becoming a bunch of cry babies...if you look at someone wrong you are gonna get sued...but yet the average murderer here spends 7 years in jail. |

I doubt many rednecks are driving "pick 'em up trucks"--pickup trucks maybe. But I love "pick 'em up"--we need to write a country song using British lingo and pitch it to Keith Urban. LOL |

I heard that midi file--it sounds a little odd, even grotesque. Like R2D2 singing Be Bop A Lula. Great find! |

pertaining to be bop a lula beatles wises It's usually assumed that Horst Fascher is singing but it's in fact his brother Fred Fascher. Horst sings on "Hallelujah I Love Her So" (according to Sulpy and Gottfridsson). |

Here's three versions of how "Be Bop A Lula" came to be. The song was supposedly based on a comic strip heroine called Little Lulu and Gene said he co-wrote it with fellow hospital patient Donald Graves. Then Sheriff Tex Davis, a local DJ, saw some potential in Gene and the weird song he sang and decided cut himself into the writing credits by buying Graves' rights to it for a mere $25. But, another story ignores Donald Graves completely and claims Gene and Sheriff Tex wrote the song together one afternoon while listening to a 78-prm recording of "You Can Bring Pearl with the Turn-Up Nose, But Don't Bring Lulu." A third version has Graves writing the song entirely on his own and selling to Gene for $50. The real story still remains in question. It is a fact, though, that Sherriff Tex Davis did sign a bewildered Gene Vincent to a management deal and later did co-write songs with Gene.
