This is the point I probably should have made before all this UGLINESS (!) started:

Artistically, John Lennon's solo career was the best.*

* But only in my opinion.

And if you prefer a different Beatle, I don't blame you -- they were all great!

Now if you'll excuse me, I just stole a copy of All Things Must Pass, and I think it's worth a listen.

Peace!!

Guys, the man is just sick himself, he needs a medical treatment, which he obviously is already undergoing. He can`t understand what he is reading in the people`s posts. He aims at hurting posters as much as he can. Most say that Paul`s career is the best, but some say they believe John`s or George`s is. ( Oh, yes, all your fire is against John, George doesn`t even exist to you. ) But, no, one mustn`t even mention their names or the reasons, because the moment one does it, jjs will strike hard. He has these dictatorship tendencies and if one doesn`t agree with him he will offend and tell them to go to the doctor. Mr. Mustard has always said that he respects other people`s opinions, whether they are based on facts or not. Mr. Mustard loves all the Beatles, but you don`t love any of them, Paul included, cause you base your arguments on cold facts and figures, how can such a person love music, Paul`s music?
Peace!

The original question was "Whose solo career do you like best;" which just means "Whose stuff do you prefer," a fairly straightforward opinion question, I should think: all you have to do is name a Beatle who had a solo career...

...a category which would include Pete Best.

I agree with beatleslover2.

I think John was sincere with regard to wanting a more peaceful world .
But i also think all the songs and all the bed-ins changed diddly-squat , we still have wars and religious fundamentalism is rampent .
In terms of getting things done i feel John lacked the dogged determination of someone like Bob Geldof who did make a difference for a while in the world .
I also think Paul and Linda's stance on vegetarianism and animal welfare in the 70's was just as commendable as John and Yoko's work for peace .
Linda was waymore successful than John in changing people's behaviour , thousands and thousands of people took inspiration from her and went veggie .

Ooh, nicely put, DaveRam!

George was highly effective as well, in getting musicians into big-time charity events through his Bangladesh example. He was also effective at getting numerous people to adopt Hinduism (or some derivative thereof). As a nonreligious person myself, I don't see this as necessarily a benefit, but it was a measurably effective move, as any number of converts will tell you. They also practice vegetarianism and meditation. I directly have George to thank for lowering my blood pressure, because a while ago my doctor had me sign up for TM to lower my BP, and it worked! So that's how far that whacky Eastern stuff got incorporated into our society. 20 years later, doctors were prescribing meditation as an effective remedy.

And let's not forget Ringo. He and his wife went into rehab when it was clearly unfashionable to do so. So he not only had to battle his alcoholism, he had to do it while helicopters flew over the facility, trying to get pictures of him cleaning the bathroom or whatever (because all inmates had to do stuff like this). So he had a very public and humiliating fight. And he and Barbara came through it great and kept clean and have a wonderfully healthy lifestyle right now. Who knows how many people were encouraged by their example to seek help out of their addiction troubles?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the world was very lucky that the Beatles were the people they were. They could have been useless, self-absorbed, arrogant vapor brains. Certainly, they all had their weak points. But I think at core they were all good people who really meant to do well in this world-- and all accomplished that in various ways. They did good-- and we are the winners.

All you've got to do is choose love.  That's how I live it now.  I learned a long time ago, I can feed the birds in my garden.  I can't feed them all. -- Ringo Starr, Rolling Stone magazine, May 2007

^ nicely put harihead!

"Wings IV introduced Jimmy McCulloch, a spunky lead guitarist with grit, able to spur Paul on unlike any previous soloist. His debut track, the magnificent single `Junior's Farm', stands as one of Wings' finest emotional and technical releases."

"Few people on this planet know as much about Jimmy's musical history than you."

From what I've seen, Paul fans aren't usually anti-John. It's John fans that are usually anti-Paul. Go on Youtube and watch a McCartney video whether its when he was in The Beatles or Wings and you will see so many comments bashing him and praising John for putting out songs with a purpose. I don't think I've ever seen that on a Lennon video.(And I'm not being bias here) I mean look at that idiot Jim Coyler's post on the first page(I believe it's on the first page). That's a perfect example. Now I'm not saying all Lennon fans are like that, just the Lennon fans that only like Lennon because it's "Cool" to like Lennon. Those losers probably haven't even listened to his solo career only praise him because of his political stance.

People like that put down Paul because HE HAD THE BETTER SOLO CAREER. MORE PEOPLE WANTED TO HEAR HIS SONGS, AND MORE PEOPLE WANTED TO SEE HIS SHOWS, and they can't stand it.

Paul actually HAD a solo career, John was an ex-Beatle who had such memorable hits as "Woman is the black person of the World".

LOL.

Ok... In my opinion, Ringo had the best solo career, and you're actually not a crazy person.
