Definitely Quadrophenia!!! But make sure you get the REAL album not the movie soundtrack. The real album has the black and white cover and is a double cd. It makes much more sense than the movie soundtrack. But also A Quick One is a good album too.

I think the "Live At Leeds" shows the power of the Who and Quadrophenia shows their talent in making a complex album. Both are good examples of the "Who's" versitility!

Agreed, Quadrophenia is their most complex indeed. It is amazing craftsmanship by Townshend... makes me laugh when they say who played what on the album and for Pete it says "Remainder" LOL

Yeah, pretty much what everyone else said. "Quadrophenia," "Tommy," and "Live At Leeds" are amazing.

"Sell Out" is pretty interesting and fun, sort of bridging between mod/psychedelic ... kind of one of those "fan's albums", but it's well worth a listen for the ads and whatnot alone. XD

Things they do look awful c-c-cold... yeah, I hope I die before I get old.

Tommy
Quadrophenia
The Who Sell Out
My Generation
Happy Jack--A Quick One

get those to start with (but eventually get them all!). And give Who Are You another shot. Its the last Keith album and the last Who album I've heard.

Speaking of which, how are their post-Keith releases?

I gotta go with TwistandSauce and Appleshout's picks--'Live at Leeds' possibly the best live album ever. If the energy on that disc don't get yer blood boiling, nothing will. 'Quadrophenia' is outstanding. Except for the title track that never needs to be played again 'Who Are You' is a favorite, I can't believe you hated it. If you are a Pete fan, 'Empty Glass' is a must.

Thats them?! Sounds nothing like The Who. I just heard Eminence Front last night. Its was alright, but much to eighties.
