Will you please upload more Rory Storm here pc?

I've always wondered why this once greatest band of Liverpool never really had a breakthru. Any clues?

Apparently they were stuck in a bit of a musical rut. Even after The Beatles exploded they refused to change from their rock'n'roll style. They probably could never have made the leap from popular dance band to  recording artists. And image wise they look like a million other r'n'r band.

Regarding those Rory Storm recordings - unfortunately that's not Ringo on the drums.

Ringo was, of course, the drummer for Rory Storm and the Hurricanes up until August 1962, however, Rory's first 2 singles were released in 1963 and 1964. Details as follows:

Dr. Feelgood/ I Can Tell  - released on Oriole records CB1858  - 1963
America/ Since You Broke My Heart - released on Parlophone records - R5197 - 1964

So, Ringo had already left the band when these tracks were recorded. The possible band line-up at this time was:

Rory Storm (vocals)
Johnny Guitar (guitar)
Ty Brian (guitar)
Lou Walters (bass)
Keef Hartley (drums)

For their Their 2nd single, America, they were under the management of Brian Epstein  - unfortunately their records didn't sell well enough to chart.

Great to hear those tracks though - thanks PC

It is a mystery to everyone how they didn't make it.

LMAO!!!!

I knew he had a stutter - didn't know he was Scottish!! I presume that's what you meant by 'jock' unless you meant he was very sporty at school, and if he was, I didn't know that fact either!!!

Ah, unless you meant disc-JOCKey! Me stoopid today! DOH!
