^ What a great song! the opening riff is juicy and his vocal line is both gritty and gripping. I must learn the bass line.

My two friends and I are doing our first gig together on New Year's Eve (gulp!) , so we are learning lots of new songs together! It's two guitars, and me on a keyboard doing bass with my left hand, and whatever else I can do on the right hand (piano, organ, claves, etc.). I'm having to learn to use my keyboard as more than a simple piano, it's like learning a new language ... plus the time pressure - it's only two weeks away! No drummer, we really need one, but it's hard enough getting three of us together in one room at once (we're all in work release programs, our ankle bracelets start shocking us if we're not back at the facility on time   ).

We're doing two Beatles tunes - Get Back, and I Feel Fine. On Get Back I made up a lower John harmony on the last verse (kind of paralleling Paul, but starting on the A instead of the E) , and also the last chorus (also paralleling Paul, but starting on the C# rather than the G). I'm kind of scared about doing it, but hopefully it will work out. One of the other guys likes it, we haven't run it by the 3rd guy yet ...

For our next gig we'll do "Let It Be", and maybe "Maybe I'm Amazed", and definitely "Slow Down", and if I have the guts "Kansas City" or maybe even "Lucille"!

I love John,
I love Paul,
And George and Ringo,
I love them all!

Have a great time New years eve amigo....Those I feel Fine harmonies will go down a winner. The pressure of time is the best way to get it together anyway. I speak from experience. hehehe

The secret is to enjoy it.

Thanks for asking, An Apple Beatle, sorry I missed your post back when!

It was lots of fun, everybody had a great time, we are our own worst critics, people just kicked back. Nothing like Tequila to keep 'em happy!

I'm envious of how many new songs you are learning! Last song I learned is "Rock and Roll", the Jerry Lee Lewis version, we are playing that for our next gig in June. If we ever get together to practice that is ... But if it's anything like last time, you will be right once again, the pressure of time is what will make it come off.

Take care!

I love John,
I love Paul,
And George and Ringo,
I love them all!
