McCartney had plans for Beatles reunion According to a recently discovered recording contract with CBS Records, Paul McCartney had plans to reunite The Beatles. Paul had contracted that he could make music again with John, George and Ringo as The Beatles. Details on the 10.8 million dollar contract are unveiled to match the 25th anniversery of John's death. An insider from the musicbusiness declared that it's the earliest known prove of a Beatle opening the way to a reunion.

Could it be relationed with the 'Long And Winding Road' project in late 70s? Even John was involved in the preparations and because of his death it all suddenly stopped and then in the 90s... well, all of you already know the story! |

BEATLES REUNION WAS IN PROGRESS, SAYS PRODUCER THE BEATLES were planning their reunion when JOHN LENNON was murdered, according to the record producer working with the late rocker on the night he was shot.
JACK DOUGLAS, who produced Lennon's final album DOUBLE FANTASY, has revealed that Lennon and PAUL McCARTNEY were talking about working together on a RINGO STARR solo album.
Douglas says, "He and Paul planned to play on a Ringo album and that's how they were planning to do it, and GEORGE (HARRISON) had not come aboard yet.
"George was already in a lot of hot water with John because of George releasing his autobiography and not really mentioning much of John in it. But I think they assumed that George would come along as soon as the thing got going."
And Douglas also claims Lennon's wife YOKO ONO actively blocked a Beatles reunion.
He adds, "Let's just put it this way - Yoko discouraged Paul coming around.
"There was a writing session somewhere in the Dakota (building where Lennon and Ono lived) and there was one cancelled which John did not know about. He was told that Paul did not show. Paul was told that John was too busy to be working with him that day."

I'd heard rumours about such a thing along time ago. Well I guess Nobody Told Me was the nearest thing we got, it was intended for the Ringo album that both George and Paul contributed to, Stop and Smell the Roses. |

Life begins at 40 (John) and All Those Years Ago (George) (with other lyrics, obviously) were meant to be in Stop And Smell The Roses. |

A sad thing that Yoko seemed to cancel the whole thing... |

If Jack Douglas is telling the truth -and why shouldn't he?- Yoko deliberately prevented John and Paul getting together again to write songs. |

And then this:
Friends in Liverpool remembered John Lennon with fondness but also felt he distanced himself from them after meeting Yoko Ono, the woman whom many fans blame for breaking up The Beatles in 1970. "You couldn't approach John at the end, and looking back it was from the moment... he met Yoko Ono," said former friend and fellow musician Billy Kinsley, who knew Beatles John Lennon and Paul McCartney in the 1960s. "It was sad. He was my hero from when I was a 15-year-old kid, and he was always approachable, always said hello, and had a little chat. But after he met Yoko, that went out the window completely." |

Very sad. I do believe in Douglas' story ... I've heard also that John was waking up from his dream about Yoko and was thinking about divorce ... but this time a real one. She might notice it and so she did what Douglas said. I don't want to be the guy who began silly theories like yesterday so it's enough for me at this point if it's enough for you too P. S. I don't mind to go on but some people could misunderstand me, y'know, and it's not what I'm looking for... |

I've also heard that there was a divorce in the pipeline. Maybe on account of that, he might have drifted back to Paul! |

As far back as 1975 May Pang said that John had planned on traveling down on a weekend to New Orleans where Paul was recording "Venus & Mars" and possibly start writing some songs with him. But alas, that same Friday night Yoko setup a "stop smoking hypnosis session" with John at the Dakota without May Pang.
John's so-called one hour "stop smoking hypnosis session" turned into a long drawn out all weekend marathon session from which he never returned back to May or to his old life. |

I THOUGHT there was going to be a Beatles reunion way back in 79 without any doubt because of all the buzz & made the front page of my local newspaper at the time but sadly it never happened. |

I think there was a contract or something of the ilk before John died. Why would Yoko give those demos over to the others in the mid-nineties?
That business seemed rather out of character for Yoko. |
