Their double live lp is their best work. Some great harmony and unique blending of different voices gave CSN&Y a great sound! They just all seemed to like each other and became that super group a guy from the Byrds, Hollies, Buffalo Springfield etc all brought something to the table!

They definately gained an edge when Young joined. I used to really like them, but songs like "Our House" and "Almost Cut My Hair" make me cringe now. I'd get Four Way Street.
Ohio is my favourite CSNY song.

'Dark Star' is incredible as is the whole first album (the live album is good too), although it may be the obvious choice.

C'mon, dude, aren't you willing to let your "freak flag fly"?

Seriously, this stuff hasn't aged very well.  Neil saved his best stuff for his solo albums.

Cinnamon Girl is a great song. I think I'm going to get their first album or Four Way street. The stuff seems like it would be fun to learn on guitar.

Get Neil's "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" if you don't have any early Neil.

Agreed. An outstanding album, and light years ahead of his rather awkward debut.
"After The Goldrush", its followup,  is the best of his accoustic albums of the period.
