Well, let's face it - if they were the citizens of almost any other country in the world, there might be statues of them in every major city, not just one! (In our case, Liverpool). Add to this the fact that the BBC some years ago banned Radio One from playing Beatles music, and it could make you wonder if the Britlanders have enough respect for one of Britain's/England's greatest cultural icons! On the other hand, in the BBC's poll of the greatest 100 British people several years back, John Lennon did make it into the top ten. Paul and George made the top 100, though Ringo didn't figure at all in the poll.

That's reasonable. Cause let's face it: if John was never born, would that have had a big effect on pop music is it is today? Yes. If Paul was never born? Yes. If George was never born? Probably. If Ringo was never born? Don't lynch me for this, but I think not really.

How would the new posters answer this question? Are the Beatles underappreciated in Britain or overappeciated? To outsiders` minds they may be a bit underappreciated. We would expect the British to be more enthusiastic about the phenomenon. Am I right? What`s the situation like in Britain itself?
