Actually, I haven't decided even. But, I wonder what you think. I think they both did great love and peace songs. Perhaps George's were more heartfelt than John's. Unfortunately, Paul never really ventured much into this area.
Summing it all up and talking in general terms (unfair, I know):
Best love songs (in general terms): John, tho his (few) peace songs are hymns and standars.
Best peace(ful) songs (in general terms): George, tho some of the best love songs ever are his (with the guys and in his solo stuff there are examples of this).
OK, then ... ... if I think about 'Love and Peace, man!' George's feeling comes to my mind before John's tho his songs mightn't (-this should be the right way to say it-) be so explicit.
Actually I can't choose. Probably about the same. And, judging from the lack of response, either most don't really care, or perhaps also assume that they probably were about the same.
um. i dunno, i always loved John's peace songs cause they were brutally honest at times, but when it comes to love songs...i think they're equal. they both do different types, George succeeds in such ballard love songs as "Something" and John does alot of the heartfelt, straightforward ones like "Oh My Love" and "Out The Blue". but he also does those heartfelt, downer love songs too "Mother", "Nobody Loves You".
George's love songs are deep and some of the most romantic ones. but i think johns have more....dunno, feeling, more honest, and emotional.
george has the Global Peace song thing, John has the global, brutally honest, peace song thing
"if asking, begging and pleading doesn't work, always go with a song and dance number."
