Just wondering if anyone has any of the album cover photo session pictures? Or if they do in fact exist, because I'm after the jacket John is wearing, but you cant' really see it.

I suppose you could try and find out who took the picture (I just had a short browse, couldn't find anything), you'd probably be able to find some pictures if you knew who took them?

Regarding the photo-session for the sleeve - I have Robert Freeman's Book and that contains no alternative shots either unfortunately.

I agree. I think that rather than being an alternative shot, the picture has actually had the skewed effect corrected (which is also possible with Photoshop).

Compare the two. As you can see, you can't actually see Paul's and George's jackets on the original LP version so it looks as if they have been Photoshopped on so that there are no corners missing when the picture is tilted and de-skewed. Also note that the title has been cropped.
