SERIOUSLY. Well, if at all possible. Have you ever wondered why so many girl groups break up, or why there are more female solo artists than there are male? Well, I hate to be disrespectful to my own gender, but girls are such prima donnas. They always have to be in charge, be the star. Believe me on this one. Pretty much any girl involved in music/theatre has acted like this at some point, although they may not want to admit it.
Not that I'm so perfect. But it's better to have one prima donna in a group than four or five!!! Now I know how the Spice Girls felt.
You're so vain, you probably think this post is about you.

I've always put it down to us being fundamentally better at it than you guys. No matter how hard you try an electric guitar on a girl just doesn't look right (bit like seeing a straight guy in a sarong. Just doesn't work the way he wants it to.)* There's a reason cock-rock is an accepted genre, but noone talks about tit-rock. But I'm happy to go with your prima-donna theory. It's just as much fun.
* I will grant a concession to the mighty Chrissie Hinds here.

I think The Runaways, Joan Jett and Lita Ford solo, and Heart would disagree with you.

I didn't realize that having a penis affected your musical ability.

I wouldn't go to a girls group concert....unless they are REALLY good music-wise.... Can't help it, but I was always attracted by boys.....men....Bon Jovi (can hear all the male members in here shouting out loud -Oh no! not him/them), AC/DC, Metallica and oh....Motley Crue (embarassed look by only mentioning them ) but they were the bands I was listening to when I was a rebel teenager. Now it's RW - concerning the current music, that is.

I would have worried if you did. Never said girls couldn't play electric guitar, just that they'll never look as cool doing it. You can't strut like we do. I think more boys are attracted to rock than girls because of the good old sex thing. Woman are very attracted to men who sing, dance or perform. Guys that would normally never get a look- in get elevated to adonis by strapping on a guitar or singing a tune. Every guy that joins a band, despite what other fabulous motives he has, knows in the back of his mind that his chances of getting laid just increased a million fold. Guys on the other hand, will entertain an attractive lady whether she be president, a rock god or the illegal-immigrant cleaner. We don't care. No man finds Britney sexy because she sings. It's those damn outfits. No amount of singing and plucking is going to make Nana Maskouri any more appealing. Just another of evolutions neat tricks.
^This, I agree with. I would also like to add that no matter how talented a female artist is, she has to be attractive is she wants to be REALLY successful.

I strongly disagree. Girls with electric guitars are hot!
Thank you, Joost! It's comforting to know that some men can be turned on by a woman who breaks the rules. I appreciate the comment, and by no means took it as sexist. Cheers!
