What is about Ringo that you love?

I love his personality, he seems to be fun loving, and entertaining. The Beatles wouldn't have been the same without him.

He is/was a very unique-sounding drummer and the fourth corner of the wheel!

I wish there was more footage of him playing Long Tall Sally - awesome!

I was working behind the bar last night - and there was a group of annoying regulars who always end up talking about the early 60's and the Beatles. I just stand and listen - But on this particular occasion, a new guy was there...and the conversation turned to Ringo. They were all laughing about him, cracking the usual jokes, until a young fellow  blurted out the classic line:

"Lennon said that Ringo wasn't even the best drummer in the Beatles"

Suddenly I felt my Ringo protectiveness boil over, casually walking over, I calmly spoke out

"I suggest you listen to some choice songs such as Rain, She Loves You, Paperback Writer, Tomorrow Never Knows, A Day In The Life, Get Back or Being for the Benefit of Mr.Kite - so you never know...you might learn something"

and then walked off to collect some empty glasses.
Their faces . .. ....  priceless

I love the fact that he made me listen to his songs
Never was a big fan....then I started watching his little updates and movies on his website...brilliant....then I started listening to his songs....especially love it when he does the old standards (Sentimental Journey) or 'Nonsense' or 'No No Song' and on and on and on. There're so many songs that really make me happy just listening. 'OK Ray' is my favourite at the moment.

When Ringo was young at the Beatles he resembled an angel. Nowadays he seems to be a great man, kind and sensible. A great Drummer, have his style.
Ringo would problably be my friend if I knew him!

The feeling he gets across through his drumming on 'A Day In The Life' - really helps the mood of the song.

I used to think like that about Ringo. But this forum changed my mind about him even more. I listened to his drumming afresh after not really considering him properly for a long time, and realised that he made a great contribution to the best band ever.

What I love most about Ringo is the imaginative, playful fills he invented.

What I love about Ringo is that he's one of the greatest rock drummers, he's a great vocalist in his own right & he's still the same guy after all these years.

I want you, I want you so bad babe.  I want you, I want you so bad.  It's driving me mad, it's driving me mad.

He's got his great certain drumming style, and you have to Admit he's the kindest beatle. Just seems like a really kind, nice man, and real friendly...like a perfect Grandad or something lol..

It's commonly thought that Ringo did only one drum solo. But actually he did two - the one on SFF also. So, I love both drum solos.

Quoted from Kate

Does anyone else think Ringo and Sam The Eagle (from the Muppets) were separated at birth?

I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.
