Wow! You'll get different opinions here. I bought his 1960s and 1970 albums (contemporary, in my case):
Bob Dylan The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan The Times They Are A-Changin' Another Side of Bob Dylan Bringing It All Back Home Highway 61 Revisited Blonde on Blonde John Wesley Harding Nashville Skyline Self Portrait New Morning
I liked his early works and they remain timeless. I was one of those who liked when he went electric. He began moving in a different direction (John Wesley Harding) after recovery from his motorcycle accident. I sort of lost interest in his work after 1970. New Morning was the last Bob Dylan album I bought. I played it twice.

Here's my best to worst:

The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan (my personal favorite) Bringing it all Back Home Highway 61 Revisited Blonde on Blonde
also John Wesley Harding is a rather underrated album IMO.
We share favorites in Mr. Dylan's work. I quite love the title of the fourth on that list and I agree that Freewheelin' is the best. Have you ever heard his self-titled debute? Its pretty good but it only has two original songs.
