I usually have this rule that I don't take 'best album ever' lists seriously if Pet Sounds isn't in the top 5, but since this is a Beatles board and it's the highest album not by the Beatles, I can live with it.
nice! but just out of curiousity, the albums like Bob Dylan's are all in a row. did they get voted in that way or did they just get all the same number of votes and you decided to put them together?
being a U2 fan, i find it hilarious that October beat out Actung Baby.
"if asking, begging and pleading doesn't work, always go with a song and dance number."
haha yeh should have guessed beatles would be the top 5 choices...can see a lot of my choices in there like jeff buckleys live at sin-e anyway niceee choices, maybe you could post it somewhere else as well......i really should pick up some of elliot smiths work, as a lot people have reccomended it and it looks good, anyone know what its like? i know that he did commit suicide but thats about it i afraid lol.

I'd say he sounds like a mixture of the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel and Nick Drake.
He's made six albums. Roman Candle, Elliott Smith and Either/Or are all home recordings with little more than whispered vocals and acoustic guitars. XO, Figure 8 and From A Basement On The Hill are big budget albums that remind more of Sgt. Pepper/White Album/Abbey Road.
XO is easily my favorite, but I know most fans prefer Either/Or. So those are probably the best albums to start with.

They all had the same amount of votes so I just placed them alphebetical when that happened. I was debating if that was the best thing to do, but couldn't think of anything else that would be fair.
