yeah, i would think so, i don't think courtney loves very talented at anything (apart from shooting a needle up her arm), anyway that's just my opinion..nirvana are better than her although some of hole's stuffs alright, but kurts songwriting talents are on a par with neil youngs, or jeff buckleys, and is way upp there...nirvana are ok, but don't like courtney basically.

I think its a bad thing you had the word 'like' involved in either of those bands.

Mairi, yes it is a VERY bad thing! Talk yourself out of it. PLEASE!

Kurt actually had passion and was all about the music. Courtney is all about the image and money. Plus, she killed Kurt! She must be ignored.

Seriously, I can't believe how underappreciated Nirvana is becoming. Even people who were there are forgetting how groundbreaking they were.

Oh, Courtney's a psycho b**** all right. I just happen to like some of her songs. I know exactly zilch about Courtney and Kurt so I have no idea whether or not she killed him. She is a very strange woman.
I dunno, I could never really get into the whole "grunge" thing. The music just doesn't appeal to me, for the most part. There are a couple of Nirvana songs I like though.
I was born in 1990 and hardly listen to any music made after that, so the whole 'music-changing' side of Nirvana doesn't really make a difference to me.

I like chick rock... I don't like grunge.

I like some of the stuff on 'Live Through This', most of the songs were written by Kurt anyways, but credited to Courtney. And you have permission to like whatever you want.

I was kidding about the Courtney and Kurt thing. It's an old conspiracy theory. I guess I get what you're saying about their impact meaning nothing to you, but I wasn't around for the Beatles and their whole 'music changing' thing, but it still means something to me. Same with the Sex Pistols and punk. Those bands should mean something to you because you probably wouldn't be listening to half the stuff that came after, including some chick rock, without them. But OF COURSE you have the right to like anything you want. That's a given. It's just that when you ask a question...

I hate Chick Rock. I mean, its basically, "were all great songwriting woman and feminists and if you don't like us your a sexist. Now I'm going to go sleep with 4 men, not because I'm a whore, but because my body is mine." Take Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette, or whoever.

I think Cobain's voice on Nirvana Unplugged is fantastic - so meaningful and raw.
I was obsessed with their cover of The Man Who Saved The World, and their own song About a Girl. They have some great little tunes.

Whats the matter lads? Blue Meanies?

Some people like John Cage's minimalist 'art', like sitting behind a piano in front of an audience for 4 minutes and calling it a piece. Art and music are what you make it. I've got some King Crimson that makes you feel like you are having a nightmare while you are awake, and its none too pleasing in a living room--but see it live with Fripp, Belew, Tony Levin. and Bruford or Mastellato or whatevever the f*** his name is, and it become such a cool thing. Yes, thing--don't know how to describe it. Music is whatever moves you--could be a sappy Barry Manilow song or Courtney Love song. IT DOESN'T MATTER. So what if she's a two-bit whore or whatever. I'll go Feminist here-what the men that we deify did and we don't mind a bit, goes unnoticed. A woman does the same thing, and she is denigrated. Dig it, learn from it, and take it from there. Amen.
