I was watching NBC tonight and happened upon a Chase Bank commercial for their credit card and "All You Need Is Love" is playing in the background. At first I liked it and I was singing along but then I understood their message "All You Need Is Love And Credit Cards"! That made me so mad that they had the nerve to take a brilliant song with a simple message of all you need is love and they use it to hock credit cards. I sometimes wish that companies would stop using The Beatles songs to hock crappy merchandise. I mean the people at Chase are tring to tell us that love is all you need but you also need to be in debt too.
Mr. Kite
-Mr. Kite! 'ving been some days in preparation a splendid time is guaranteed for all!
who's responsible for giving out their songs anyway? Is it still in the hands of Michael Jackson? Who has got the rights to their songs? Puzzle, puzzle, wonder why....?
The song sucks anyways so its not that big of a deal to me. Actually, I dont get why people cry about songs being used for commercials anyways. Its not taking any money out our pockets. Whoever owns the rights should be able to do what they want with them anyways.
It cheapens the message of the song. The Beatles intended for their songs to send a message or make a statemn\ent- not to hock someone else's crappy products.
You're so vain, you probably think this post is about you.
