It's pretty interesting to see what the members of the Housemartins did after their band broke up... Two members formed a new band and made the UK's best-selling album of the 90s... One member became one of the world's most succesful techno DJs... One member now writes children's books... And one former member was was send to jail for attacking someone with an axe.
If you'd write a story about a fictional band and you'd make this up, people would laugh at you for being so unrealistic.
My "good con" mono vinyl Revolver has just arrived from ebay (12 quid). I haven't heard Revolver for ten years, and never in mono. It's home for dinner, take the phone off the hook, roll a nice little number, a bit of Rubber Soul for warmup and perspective, then bliss.
The Pipettes - We Are The Pipettes Weezer - Weezer (green album) The Everly Brothers - The Definitive Everly Brothers Me First & The Gimme Gimmes - Love Their Country Bad Astronaut - Twelve Small Steps, One Giant Dissapointment MXPX - Let's Rock
Are those John martyn ones good BM? i like bell x1 they're good, 'lamposts' is a good track
They are both excellent. I still have my old vinyl Live At Leeds, signed by the man himself. The extra stuff on the first CD is badly recorded however all the stuff from the original album is very nicely remastered.
In Session is a compilation of JM's BBC radio sessions. Basically from two John Peel, and one (Whispering) Bob Harris. It's staggeringly good.
Bell X-1 are fairly new to me. The barman in my local plays them. Good album. Damien Rice's old band.
I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.
