I've heard this story before, it's complete rubbish - I'm not sure if he's lying or simply deluded!

The only track that I know of that had an additional drum track added is Ain't She Sweet and that certainly wasn't instigated by Brian Epstein. It may be this track that he is thinking of.

There is also rumour that Can't Buy Me Love, recorded in Paris Marconi studios, had a different drum track added (possibly not by Ringo!) when mixed back at Abbey Road. I think that is unfounded though and it definitely wasn't Bernard Purdie.

It now bears mention that before Atco released their allotted four songs, they hired a session drummer and session guitarist to "punch up" the songs, particularly Pete Best's drum work. Drummer Bernard Purdie has claimed that he played drums on some Beatles records, and since he did record for Atlantic/Atco, it is often thought that he was the session drummer, even if he misremembers the details. Atco also edited two of the songs: "Nobody's Child" and "Take Out Some Insurance On Me, Baby," the latter because of Tony's swearing near the end.

That may be possible, but i'm pretty sure he claimed that he drummed on many of their songs that were popular on the radio as stated in this book -

By the way, Max drilled him about the ordeal with questions that he couldnt answer. Its a good read.

Isn't it funny to read your comments 2 years later anyway I do stick by everything I said back then.  THis guy is a joke and should live off his own success which does look very respectable in his own right.  I called him a hack before and maybe that wasn't correct but my question still remains that after his success why did he feel the need to start this silly rumor that absolutely no one believes?  Did he feel the need to inflate his ego a little bit?

Me thinks the answer is yes,
