I actually became a Beatles fan because of the Anthology. For some reason I've always been fascinated with demos, outtakes, B-sides and stuff like that. I owned Anthology 2 before I owned any of the regular albums. Listening to Anthology 2 a lot made me want to hear the final versions of all those songs, that's why I started collecting all the regular albums.
But you're right, of course I was already somewhat interested in the Beatles before I got the Anthology CDs.
That's pretty cool BP, to dive in head first, going for the more obscure stuff right off the bat. Me, myself, and I have all been fans before, during, and after the Anthology series.
The Beatles are -fortunately- still up-to-date and that's what counts, either young or not so young anymore, we all love their music and their qualities. I'm became a fan when I was 10 - look up my profile and do your own maths.

I don't know how somebody could be so wrong but he is. My sister turned me on to The Beatles maybe when I was in grade 1 and she has regretted it ever since and I'm 27 now. I owned the Red album, the blue album, rock and roll versions 1 and 2 and The Early Beatles. When The Anthology came out I got it on cd and started buying the regular albums and I'll be a Beatles fan till the day I die. I don't care who knows it my friends may bug me about it but they know it's good music so they don't seriously bug me because they have no real arguments.

I go on last.fm, and Beatles are still very much alive in terms of music,,. My parents had Beatle tapes and LPs, but the LPs "disappeared" but anyhow...I liked the Beatles before the anthology, and it's just a bit overgeneralized to say teens listen to Justin T. or Black eyed peas, so many people that I know listen to classical rock,

John on M*A*S*H would have been neat like what happens if they would have had him singing "Give Peace A Chance" instead of Captain Spaulding?
You can still buy season 5 here but why not try Amazon or Ebay or why even bother if you've heard the news lately 2oth Century Fox is releasing the complete series plus the movie and 2 disks of special features in one box set for some $200 USD. But they arn't releasing the special features to people any other way so the people like me who've been loyal and have been buying the sets feel cheated that the only way to get the special features is to re buy the whole series. I hope Fox rectifies the situation as no one is very happy about it.

I never became a serious Beatles fan until I listened to a Day in the Life in class at school, and then the Sgt. Peppers album sealed the deal. Then it was Revolver and Rubber Soul, and then Abbey Road, and then Magical Mystery Tour,.... and so it went. My love for the Beatles grew exponentially in that way, and really, it still is.
We have a tape of me from when I was 10, saying "I like the Beatles.... do you like the Beatles? ....Okay, let's turn off the tape now so we can listen to the Beatles." That would have been around the time that "1" cam eout but I don't think I was aware of it. My dad also used to sing me Beatles songs when I wa sgrowing up in the '90s, but again, I wasn't aware of the Anthology. I don't see why it matters anyway. As long as someone is listening to the Beatles, who cares how they discovered them?
You're so vain, you probably think this post is about you.
I used to have tapes of me and my friends interviewing the Beatles. I'd be Paul adn my best friend would be Ringo and so on. I haven't heard the tapes in so long. I wonder if we did the accents. How or why you became a fan has no relevance whatsoever. It's just in some peoples natures to belittle others for absolutely nothing.
The fisrt time i held a beatle my hand was when i was 8 years old [1970] my older brothers friend was giving me a choice of 2 records to have ,one was a woman called cilla black, the other was a group called the beatles ,it was hey jude i looked at the labels , according to my mother at a very early age ,when asked i was able to put records on before i could read by the labels ,so for me the green apple was the winner [i still have the record ] .And to this day its my alltime favorite song .but 3 years later i was at a local fair and i heard a song coming from one of the rides ,it helen wheels i had to have this record ,at the time i was into t .rex ,imagine my shock when i saw the label a apple ! . so i heard he had [macca] a album coming out band on the run i soon put 2 +2 together that mr mccartney was in the beatles and they just released the red and blue album , bought those loved them and then got a album what changed my life ,sgt peppers lonley hearts club band it just blew me away ,and that was it for me the beatles became the sound track of my life .
