Because you can never have enough.
I, at the moment, can only think of three- Lola, Walk on the Wild Side (well... several VU/Lou Reed songs actually) and Sweet Transvestite. I know there are more, but what are they?

You're so vain, you probably think this post is about you.

Well, I was going for "She's so good looking but she looks like a man", and I've heard quite a few theories about different songs, but never about a woman that wraps herself in saran wrap. It's horseshit.

Now, why would you say that? There's no need to be hostile. Jesus. Anything can be read into anything.

oh my wad!!!thats your proof?a review written on a shopping .com web site???written by a member no doubt....there are countless site that quote johns interview...what you said was horse mess guy...
if you appreciate horseshit look at this link....http://tonysheridan.com/html/about_tony.html
you'll read this in there...One night after a backstage fray, Tony Sheridan was forced to get rid of drummer Pete Best, and brought into the Band Richie Starkey (aka Ringo Starr), who had earlier worked with Tony but not with the Beatles. The ‘Fab-Four’—The Beatles-- that the world would come to know and acclaim, “were born” that night in Hamburg, the end result of Tony Sheridan’s intuition and decision (as well as a quarrel).  Tony Sheridan’s backup band, The Beatles, would go on to rewrite Musical History...i guess it must ber true huh?

more wisdom from shopping .com.....
Ringo Starr's "Octopuses Garden" is a simple song that is similar to a certain previous McCartney penned Starr song hit about a yellow submersible. The lyrics are simple and innocent. The song has become a favorite of many Beatles fans, including my dad.

The thing about Polythene Pam is in A Hard Day's Write. Marshall is correct. Now let's all go back to our sense and continue discussing gender-bending songs.

Richard Thompson - Woman Or A Man?

I stepped on the dance floor feeling very cool
I thought I saw an angel sitting on a stool
I just couldn’t tell, you’ll think I’m a fool
If she was a woman or a man

She was the kind of woman that a man could crave
From her high-heeled shoes to her permanent wave
Except maybe she was needing a shave
Was she a woman or a man?

O I asked her to dance and I took her by the hand
She held me so tight, it was hard for me to stand
Built like a lumberjack, I couldn’t understand
If she was a woman or a man

Well, I walked her home, it was quarter past four
My heart was thumping as we ducked in the door
And then when she kissed me I thought I was sure
If she was a woman or a man

Well, she stole my wallet and she knocked me off my feet
She tied on her roller skates and made her retreat
All I found was a blond wig a-lying in the street
Was she a woman or a man?

Well, I don’t care if she seemed unkind
She stole my heart and she robbed me blind
I love her so much that I still wouldn’t mind
If she was a woman or a man

I just want you to reassure him - talk to him, make him see the error of his ways. Then I'll hit him.

Lady Stardust ( David Bowie )

People Stared at the makeup on his face
Laughed at his long black hair ,his animal grace
The boy in the bright blue jeans
Jumped up on the stage
And Lady Stardust sang his songs
Of darkness and disgrace.
