"Ringo Starr's wife is spending her 60th birthday in hospital after breaking her leg in a horse riding accident.
Barbara Bach, a former Bond girl, was admitted to the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford yesterday morning.
A spokesman for the hospital said she was suffering from a broken right femur after her horse kicked her.
Mrs Starkey, who was admitted under her married name, was taken to hospital after the accident near their home in Cranleigh, Surrey.
She has been accompanied by her worried husband during her treatment.

Doctors operated on her yesterday afternoon and the hospital`s spokesman said the procedure "went very well".
He said: "She had a stable and peaceful night and everything is going well with her recovery. Her condition will be assessed today but I don`t think she will be discharged. "I believe today is her 60th birthday." He said the couple did not wish to add anything further about Mrs Starkey`s accident."
