NYC is high on the list of places I have to visit someday, even though I still find the idea of flying to the USA a bit frightening ever since 9-11 (don't have a problem with flying anywhere else though). But NYC definately seems like a fascinating place.

I know it's completely unreasonable, but unfortionately it's not that easy to get such a thought out of your head once it's in.
