New York City believes its own hype that it's pathetic, no wonder why things always happen there, from terrorist attacks to high profile murders & lots of celebrities. You would think the U. S. evolves around the happenings that go on in NYC constantly, which isn't the case at all & the state isn't what it's cracked up to be. I have to admit I haven't been to New York yet, even though I probably will before too long, but since the WTC isn't there anymore. I would go to Shea Stadium, go see SNL, if it's still on(I grew up on those first 5 years), David Letterman & possibly Regis & Kelly(she's got a great body, great legs & sexy feet), as well as some of the restaurants. New York City isn't the epicenter of cool, which is probably a shock to its citizens & that the rest of the country cares, when the other states don't give a damn at all. When a terrorist attacks of 9/11 happened in NYC, it was a tragedy for the country as a whole, but the citizens who live there, as well as the media, should get over themselves & get back to reality, instead of living in a fantasy.
I want you, I want you so bad babe. I want you, I want you so bad. It's driving me mad, it's driving me mad.
isnt shea stadium in chicago? hey wayne, you catch Keith Obermann's speech he went out with last night, great stuff. only one to actually stand up to Bush

I don't think I've ever seen someone say so little with so many words.
Wayne, you make so little sense. You are so off on just about everything in your post. And the fact that you haven't even been there and feel the need to put it down just shows your ignorance. What got you going Wayne? Watching the New Yorkers who lost people on 9/11 pay tribute to their loved ones? Jeez, how dare they make it all about themselves.
Matt you're not serious about Shea being in Chicago are you? It's in Queens! Where the Mets play!

how dare you wayne. how dare you think that you're better than those in NYC. How dare you think that the attacks on 9/11 mean nothing. how dare you accuse those that lost their lives are worthless and easily forgotten. how dare you believe that that every problem is in NYC. You're not from NY so obviously you're wrong. How dare you accuse those that died and those that were sent overseas because of this terrorist attack of living in a fantasy land. how dare you think that you live in a reality and not a fantasy land. how dare you think this. and how dare you for having the nerve to post this stupid, heartless crap.
"if asking, begging and pleading doesn't work, always go with a song and dance number."
you really are a heartless idiot wayne. you say all this mess about NYC even though you've never been there and still think that they are overrated. go there first, experience new york, then give us an opinion. and as for not having an opinion on nyc, first of all thats not even an insult, and secondly i dont have one because ive never been there.

I know you want to single me out & let punks like most of the other members free, because you're such a hypocrite as usual lennonlegend, but I know the facts about this forum.
I want you, I want you so bad babe. I want you, I want you so bad. It's driving me mad, it's driving me mad.
theres a different between bashing and hate. you obviously called me gay blade which is the same as calling someone a n*****. swearing isnt as bad, there are actually people that are gay and i know a few gay people, but calling someone a hateful word as that or f** is unnecessary and definately uncalled for

NYC is high on the list of places I have to visit someday, even though I still find the idea of flying to the USA a bit frightening ever since 9-11 (don't have a problem with flying anywhere else though). But NYC definately seems like a fascinating place.
you know whats amazing, theres like a 1 in a billion chance that a hijacking will take place and it was the same before the attacks. its just that 1 is enough to scare people from flying.
amazing that before that the biggest fear for americans was a school shooting

I know it's completely unreasonable, but unfortionately it's not that easy to get such a thought out of your head once it's in.

The hate from some of the members on this forum is silly & pathetic & I think some of them are in a Manson state of mind literally. I think New York City is overrated as a high class state with the best this, that & the other, when it's not.
I want you, I want you so bad babe. I want you, I want you so bad. It's driving me mad, it's driving me mad.
If I'm so off in my post as you say, where am wrong about the Beatles & New York City Sandra?
Okay Wayne, I’ll do my best to explain.

New Yorkers are proud to be New Yorkers. There’s no question about that, but what does that have to do with terrorist attacks or murders happening there?? Their attitude caused it? The terrorist attacks occurred back East because they wanted to attack symbols of American power. Economy (WTC), Military (Pentagon) and Government (Capital Building or White House). These things just happen to be located on the East Coast. I suppose they could have crashed their planes into the Dairy Queen, but I don’t think that would have had quite the impact that they were going for.
As for the ‘high profile murders and lots of celebrities’, I have no idea what you’re talking about. What do you mean lots of celebrities? Are you saying lots of celebrities are being murdered there? Or just that they live there. You’re writing is unclear. What high profile murders are you thinking about anyway Wayne? Lennon? Who else then? I’m at a loss. Are you talking about serial killers? Because California beats NYC in that area. The Midwest has had its share of psychos too Wayne. Still, I’m at a loss about what you meant, so if I didn’t address it, forgive me.

Well Wayne, this is the fifth anniversary of 9/11, so if you happened to be hearing a lot about NYC, maybe that’s because it HAPPENED there. What else are you hearing about NYC? And HOW do you know the STATE isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be if you’ve NEVER been there??? BTW Wayne, New York City and New York State or two different things. So stick to one or the other. Which are you criticizing? Now it’s the whole state? I thought it was the City you had the problem with. So you are also annoyed at Buffalo, Long Island, Syracuse, and Lake George?

Is that the end of our sentence? Did you mean to put a comma there? I hope so.

May I also suggest Rockefeller Center, MOMA, Times Square, The Empire State Building, China Town, Little Italy (go to Ferraras. They have great cannoli), The Village, the Hotel Chelsea,The New York Public Library, Grand Central Terminal, (take the train to the Hamptons), Ellis Island, Macys, Central Park (don’t forget Strawberry Fields and the Dakota), and a walk over the bridge to Brooklyn to see the Botanic Garden and Coney Island. Get a knish or hot dog while you’re there, they’re great. Even the subway is cool. You can eat underground at the Oyster Bar or just enjoy the bands and street performers that hang out down there. They're actually pretty good. But yeah, New York isn’t what it’s cracked up to be. You can experience this all in your hometown I’m sure.

You know what Wayne, New York IS the epicenter of cool. It’s the nations fashion capital. New York trends dictate what the rest of the country thinks is hip and ‘cool’. So yeah, I think the rest of the country does care.

The terrorists attacks of 9/11 were a tragedy for the WORLD. People from 115 different countries died at the World Trade Center. What are you saying here anyway? That the people in NYC only think it happened to them? That it wasn’t an attack on the US, but just them? What are they supposed to do Wayne, not mourn what happened in their own backyards? I was there less then a month after it happened. It was still burning. People who lived down there had to wear masks because of the fumes. Acres of land were just left in ruins. People they lived and worked with were gone. So are they being selfish for not saying, hey Nebraska, I know you’re sad too. I don’t get what bothers you here. What fantasy world are they living in?? Five years later and bodies are still being found. Over 500 remains were found last January. Women who were pregnant at the time have had to have their children analyzed for effects of toxic poison because of the fumes they breathed in all those months that followed the attacks. This isn’t over for them Wayne, so excuse them if they still want to talk about it. This IS their reality get it?
I’ve lived in LA for almost 10 years now and I still miss NY. There is nothing like it.
BTW, if you want to trash Los Angeles, be my guest. I wouldn’t spend 10 seconds defending it.
All well put. In alot of ways, the World revolves around the City-from Finance to Fashion and everything in between. Anyone that thinks the 9/11 is some sort of 'fantasy' is sick. We won't know for many years what the health effects will be, I have a feeling that they will continue to find body parts and carnage for a long time. I've pasted a picture from when I was at Ground Zero in May. From all the wreckage, they left this:
