I don't understand the concept. If you want to send something to someone, why wouldn't you just PM them? Unless you are PC31, they stay personal. Why not just start a thread or whatever? It's like, I guess literally, like going into someone's mail. Am I missing something? It seems as if dialogue here, no matter what thread it is, takes it's own form.

If nobody would understand the concept, people wouldn't post in these mailboxes. But they do. If you don't understand it, well, you can just ignore the mailboxes forum, right?

Problem solved.

That's really not the point. Yes, I can ignore it. I can see you becoming an a**hole like the rest BP, and that's a shame.

I simply advised you to ignore something you don't like. How does that make me an a**hole?

Anyway, that post wasn't meant to be offensive. I never had any problems with you and I think we should keep it that way.

OK, a more serious reply to the original question then.

I think the mailboxes thing is cool when you want to discuss something with someone but wouldn't mind others to join in on the conversation, or if you want to send out some kind of open letter to someone for whatever reason.

1). I don't like being talked down to.

It wasn't my intention to do that and apologize if it looked that way.

So people can have a conversation with more than two people, and also because it's easier to carry on a conversation than PMing back and forth.

You're so vain, you probably think this post is about you.

Isn't that what 'Different Conversations" is for? Or go to one of the websites that the members have. In the words of Frank Zappa "Who gives a f*** anyways". 16 Magazine.

Well you've seen how conversations can get out of hand in "Different Conversations" or other forums and just end up being about nothing but two or three people chatting. I've done it before. Then people who actually want to talk about the subject of the thread can't. So if that kind of thing happens we can just take it to the mailboxes. Not that it matters anyways. If you don't like the concept, just don't use it.
