Which band is better? For some reason The Rolling Stones are of legendary status and I don't really know why. Anyways, I think The Who are better, they rock so much. Their band is so kickass. The Who is one of the Best bands in the 70s.
I've got a feeling, a feeling deep inside. Words Of Love

i think it has to be the stones
The Stones were at their baddest & ballsiest during the late 60's/early 70's in their music, their image & their attitude. I will always remember them from that period when I first became aware of them at the time.
I want you, I want you so bad babe. I want you, I want you so bad. It's driving me mad, it's driving me mad.

Right on, their performance on the rolling stones rock n roll circus video is outstanding, i love it! and i can't believe they thought they had been upstaged by the who

I f my opinion was just on Rock N' Roll circus I would say The Who. Mick's performance of Sympathy for the dvil was a little much IMO.
I never liked Stones except a couple of their songs.
The catalouge of "quality songs" the Stones have performed is only surpassed prehaps by the Beatles themselves. A couple of songs? Satisfaction, Have You Seen Your Mother's Baby, Lady Jane, Paint It Black, Midnight Rambler, Jumping Jack Flash, Honkey Tonk Woman, Sympathy For The Devil, Gimme Shelter, Angie, Let It Bleed, Stray Cat Blues, Start Me Up, It's Only Rock And Roll, Brown Sugar, Tumbling Dice, Under My Thumb, She's A Rainbow, Danilion. As you can see these are but a few of the Rolling Stones hits. Which "couple" were you thinking about?
I believe Gimme Shelter has one of the best intro's in rock. Is that Keith doing the high bits? And Sympathy For The Devil is as about a perfect a rock song as can be. Killer guitar, awesome lyrics, sneering vocal, spooky backing vocals. Fantastic. Never got off on The Who (except a couple of songs) but my exposure to them has been a lot less.

I could easily add 75 top notch songs to that list
