!!! I've just noticed that I started this thread - and I never responded!

I suppose on the basis of what I've read, and my listening, I'd say - George, Paul, John.

Without a doubt:

George developed a very nice melodic style over the years. I've never much cared for McCartney's guitar style, though his solo on 'Riding To Vanity Fair' promted me to wonder if it was him playing the solo on 'Something'?

I'm still voting for the mellotron.  Damn that machine can play!  Just think if they used it one more songs with different tapes.  Just sample a range of Eric Clapton notes and use them.
